Itsy Bitsy Yoga® helps babies sleep better, digest better and be happier! As adults we know that yoga can help calm, relax and bring peace and well-being. But did you know that babies (even newborns!), toddlers and children can reap those same benefits, and more?

I’ve been teaching Itsy Bitsy Yoga (IBY) for over six years and can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard parents say, “ My baby sleeps so much better after yoga.” In Baby IBY, the parent moves the baby in ways that are developmentally nutritious. Movements are done to songs that the baby learns to recognize and love. These movements not only help babies sleep longer and better, they relieve fussiness and colic, easy tummy troubles, encourage neuromuscular development and strengthen the immune system.

When babies become mobile, they “graduate” to the Tots or Tykes class. Parents learn ways to help their toddlers focus, build self-confidence, and of course, get that endless energy out in beneficial ways!

Babies and children aren’t the only ones to benefit from Itsy Bitsy Yoga. Parents learn to breathe, love and move with their little ones! I always remind parents, that when you are calm, your baby or child will sense that calm.
